Let's begin with knowing some interesting facts about the very renowned Bhuteshwar Nath Mahadev Temple
Bhuteshwar Nath Mahadev Temple
Bhuteshwar Nath is one of the oldest vintage temples situated across the Aravalli ranges, in the mid of the forest, near Amer Fort. The temple has a White Shiva Linga (representation of Lord Shiva) and is very well constructed in white. There are dedicated priests, who offer prayers and take care of the temple.
Many visitors and believers come here every year, especially during monsoon (Sawan month, dedicated to Lord Shiva). People have a lot of faith and believe in this temple. They come here with wishes and it is believed that the wishes are really fulfilled if implored with your whole heart.
Bhuteshwar Nath temple is very renowned not only among the local public but also among the Maharajas of Amer. In fact, it is believed that the Maharajas used to come and prey here before going into any battleground to win the war.
Believer Story#1: It is told that the temple is around 400-500 years old. There was the habitat of evils in this place. Later after doing lots of prayers and rituals by the local priests, Shiva Linga appeared by itself and all the evil power left the place forever. And since then, the people began faithfully worshipping the temple.

My Experience of Bhuteshwar Nath Mahadev Trek
During my adventurous trekking trips in Jaipur, the Bhutesherwar Nath Mahadev trek was at the top of my list. I eventually got the opportunity to plan this exquisite trek with my dad and brother. After knowing about the Bhuteshwar Nath Temple, I was even keener and more excited about this trek as the trekking route is the longest compared to other trekking spots in Jaipur.
I researched the Bhuteshwar Nath Temple and the trekking routes and learned that there is not much detailed information about the trekking route anywhere on the internet. So I thought why not go and explore the trek!!
As planned, we left our home in the early morning around 5 AM and reached Sagar Lake, where we parked our car and started walking inside through the sideway. There are two trekking ways to get to Bhuteshwar Nath Temple. As I had already covered the Chohde Ke Hnumaan Ji trek, and I was pretty aware of that tracking route. So to make our journey even more adventurous, we decided to take a different route to reach the Temple.
Walking over a wall which gets slippery in monsoon season |
We climbed through the small greenery trail and entered the forest. We kept walking for half n hour and found a pond, which can be considered the mark of the route. Now from that pond, we were a bit stuck and couldn't find a way to move on. As in the monsoon season, the grass grows taller hiding the trails.
We found a pond that gets filled with water in the monsoon season, we have to cross this pond to reach the other side |
But then after exploring, we found a small trail at the mount. We climbed that cliff and walked down the slope and found a big Fort gate.
We felt relieved after reaching that gate. The scenery and the beauty of nature were just marvelous from that viewpoint. There is a way to climb through that gate. We took a rest for some time there. Sip a cup of tea, which we carried from home in a thermal bottle. The view was just marvelous and remarkable. I was so thrilled after viewing such a beautiful glimpse of nature.

This was just the mid-way of our trek. After taking a break, we again started our remaining journey. As we moved on, we got a three-way, out of which two ways (left and right) both were looking in fine condition and even motorbike was passing by. So we choose the midway, which was going through the forest. But later, we got to know that, it was the wrong way as that trail was taking us to the village.
We continued our trek from the three-way point in the left direction and started walking for about an hour, we could see the orange temple flag and the white temple outlying. We understood that this is the correct route. We quickly fasten our speed and reached the temple.
The temple was just remarkable and was looking so beautiful just in the middle of a forest, surrounded by green vegetation, and an old big tree just beside the temple was adding the beauty of the place.
Beautiful Bhuteshwar Nath Mahadev Temple |
The complete aura was so religious, pure, and peaceful. I could see a few more group of trekkers who came there clicking photos. We entered the temple, and our timing was so spectacular that we could witness the main pooja of Lord Shiva. We spent enough time in the temple and started our return journey.
This time we decided to go via the Chohde Ke Hanumanji route. Even that trail was so beautiful and green. In the mid, we found a waterfall near "Mata Ka Mandir". And finally reached our starting point.
On the return journey, we came across a trail to "Mata ka Mandir" |
Both routes took almost the same time. Both had amazing views as well. But I found Chohde Ke Hanuman Ji route a bit easier as compared to the other one.
After completing this beautiful trek, I can proudly say that this is the best trek I have had in Jaipur, especially visiting the temple of Bhuteshwar Nath Mahadev was just a mesmerizing venture to me. I was thrilled and felt fortunate to see this renowned temple.
Key Points to keep in Mind
1. The total trek distance is 3 to 3.5 kilometers and it will take around 2.5 to 3 hours to complete the trekking.
2. Carry a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated and some snacks or protein bars for munching.
3. Try to wear a good pair of trekking shoes with a good grip as the trail is steep and has stones.
4. Maintain cleanliness in nature. Do not throw any garbage in open. If you plan to carry snacks with you carry the leftover wrappers with you and keep the surroundings clean for our next fellow trekkers.
