My Experience of Kuntalgarh Fort Trek?
The Kuntalgarh fort trek is special as I planned this trek with some strangers(and after the trek became good friends) who got in touch with me through Instagram after watching my trekking videos on Youtube.
Friends who accompanied me in the Kuntalgarh Fort Trek |
We planned this trek on Sunday early morning and we all gathered at Kheri Gate, Amer which is our meeting point.
With no time wasting, we started our trek from Kheri gate and we followed the trek path which I explained above. This is the same trek route that we took for Bhuteshwar Nath Mahadev Trek.
After walking for an hour we reached the Kuntalgarh Fort Gate. We climbed up to the fort wall and relaxed for some time and enjoyed the picturesque landscape of the Aravalli ranges.
Majestic view of Kuntalgarh Fort Wall |
Then, we followed the Kuntalgarh fort wall and kept walking and after covering 500meters we came across another beautiful view which looks more like a viewpoint, After talking to a halt for a few minutes we continued our trek and came to a point where there is a steep wall around 8 feet. Somehow we managed to climb up to it and we encountered a breathtaking view of the entire Nahargarh forest.

We all took a break, had our moment by enjoying a cup of tea and snacks, and had a few conversations with fellow trekkers.
After taking a break, we started our return journey but the challenge is to find the trail that can take us to a Chhode Ke Hanumanji Temple from that viewpoint. From that viewpoint itself, we found one trail which is a part of the Kuntalgarh Fort wall only.
Following Kuntalgarh fort wall for the return journey |
We followed the wall and kept walking and after covering around 1-2 kilometers on the wall we found an exit gate from there there is a trail going towards Chohde Ke Hanumanji Temple. We followed the same path and in no time we reached the temple.
And from Chohde Ke Hanumanji Temple the trail is simple to reach up to Sagar Lake.
Overall Kuntalgarh Fort Trek is one of the best hikes we did in Jaipur and the trail is gorgeous and adventurous which is bliss for any trek lover.
Key Points to keep in mind?
1. The total trek distance is 6 kilometers and it will take around 3-4 hours(round way) to complete the trekking.
2. Carry a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated and some snacks or protein bars for munching.
3. Try to wear a good pair of trekking shoes with a good grip as the trail is steep and has stones.
4. Carry a wooden stick with you while trekking into the forest to clear the trek trails and any obstacles.
5. Maintain cleanliness in nature. Do not throw any garbage in open. If you plan to carry snacks with you carry the leftover wrappers with you and keep the surroundings clean for our next fellow trekkers.
