Jaipur, the Pink City, holds more than just palaces and vibrant markets. Tucked away in its heart is a special spot for those who love a bit of adventure and history – the Twin Towers Trek.
It's not a tough climb, but it's a chance to see Jaipur from a whole new perspective.
In this blog will share all the details required to complete this beautiful trek.
About Twin Tower Trek
The Twin Towers Trek is a hidden gem in Jaipur, India.
It is a relatively easy trek that takes you through a beautiful forest and ends up at two abandoned broadcast towers. The views from the top are amazing.
The trek starts at the Galta Gate, which is about 10 kilometers from Jaipur city center. You can take a bus or taxi to Galta Gate. The trek is about 8 kilometers long and takes about 3-4 hours to complete.

What is the route of the Twin Tower Trek?
The trekking route of Twin Tower is fairly easy compared to other Treks in Jaipur which I have covered.
The trek starts from the Galta Gate, Jaipur on the city side. At the starting point, there is enough parking space for two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
The trail starts from Galta Gate passes through Sun Temple, Jaipur, and finishes at the Twin Tower broadcast station.
The trail takes you through some breathtaking views of Aravali ranges and beautiful Jaipur city and as you keep moving you will come across a point where one trail takes you to the Sun temple and another trail to the Twin Tower. (Please refer to the route map)

My Experience of Twin Tower Trek?
I got to know about this trek from my Friend who recently did this trek in Jaipur which made me excited to do it. I asked him to accompany me on this trek and he agreed to go along with me. So we planned our trek for Sunday first week of November.
We all gathered at a viewpoint close to Galta Ghati(city side) in Jaipur early morning winters just got started so we had our winter clothes on. After waiting for a few more friends who wanted to join me on this trek. we started our trek journey around 6:30AM.
Fellow trekkers who joined me on this Trek |
There is enough parking space close to Galta gate where one can park our two-wheeler as well as a four-wheeler.
The initial trail was very easy as we crossed the Galta gate, there is a proper pathway that goes towards the Galta Ji Temple. We found many monkeys on our way and many people feeding them, I would advise just beware of your belongings while crossing that part of the trail.
After walking for 15 minutes we reached the point where on the right side we could spot the Sun Temple and on the left, the trail went straight. We thought of visiting the Sun Temple and offering prayers.

Afterward, we continued on our trek journey. On our way, we met a couple of people who were jogging and doing yoga. We said hi to them and continued on our way.
After walking for an hour we reached a point where we could see the towers but it was still far from where we reached, we took a halt had some water, and enjoyed the morning sunrise.
Then we again continued on our trek journey, the trails were clear but it was dense with wild bushes. After covering almost 4KM we reached our final destination which looked a bit haunted. The place was previously a broadcast station and now it has been abandoned.
Just before reaching the Twin Tower's final viewpoint |
We climbed the stairs and reached the top of the building where those big twin towers were located. We could see a 360-degree panoramic view of Jaipur city; it was an amazing sight for all of us.
We took out our camera and captured the beauty of that place and then we had some snacks and soaked ourselves into the natural beauty.
Overall, this is the best trek we have had in terms of difficulty and the trek route.
Key Points to Keep in Mind
1. The total trek distance is 8 kilometers and it will take around 2-3 hours(roundway) to complete the trekking.
2. Carry a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated and some snacks or protein bars for munching.
3. Try to wear a good pair of trekking shoes with a good grip as the trail has stairs and it will be slippery in the monsoon season.
4. Maintain cleanliness in nature. Do not throw any garbage in the open. If you plan to carry snacks with you carry the leftover wrappers and keep the surroundings clean for our next fellow trekkers.
